Dr Kwame Anim-Boamah has been appointed Director of Medical Affairs for the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Until his recent appointment, Dr Anim-Boamah, a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist held the same position at Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
His tenure at the Eastern Regional Hospital saw the institution being adjudged the overall best Regional Hospital by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Dr Anim-Boamah was adjudged the overall best Medical Doctor of the Year during the 2018 edition of the National Medical Excellence Awards.
The University of Ghana Medical Centre offers a variety of medical training programmes using high-quality computer-based simulations for the training of pre-service health professional students, practising health professionals and non-health professionals.

Health care services available at the Centre include Obstetrics and Gynaecological services, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Emergency Medical Services among others.
The Centre is being constructed in phases and is expected to be fully operational by January next year.
The facility was commissioned by former President John Mahama on January 4, 2017, three days before he handed over power to Nana Akufo-Addo.
