The Headmaster of Bueman Senior High School has appealed to the President Akufo-Addo, to as a matter of urgency replace the school’s 34-year-old bus and several other jalopy school vehicles.
Reverend E.T Adzigodie made this passionate appeal while speaking as the host of the durbar preceding the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Oti regional education office.
“We humbly appeal to your the President to come to our aid with a duty vehicle. Preferably, a pickup and a bus,” the headmaster said.
JoyNews’ regional correspondent, Peter Senoo, said the car in question has broken down on few occasions due to it’s deteriorated state.
Reverend Adzigodie recounted how he had to transport six ill students to and from hospitals in his personal car.
The same car serves a dual purpose of being used to perform administrative duties and his personal rounds.
Bueman SHS, whose total population stands at 2029, consists of 1047 boys and 982 girls have no choice but to use these overaged vehicles.
He believes President Akufo-Addo will meet their needs considering his recent provision of a tractor to Jasikan after they pleaded for one.
