The Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked government to hurriedly release funds for beneficiaries of the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
According to a statement issued by the National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, the government’s deliberate action of withholding funds exhibits the lack of action and empathy of the Akufo-Addo administration.
“Already, students are grappling to come to terms with the hard economic times we find ourselves in and government chooses to burden them more by refusing them their quota,” the press statement read.
This comes after Coalition of Aggrieved Students gave government a one-week ultimatum to release money to the Student Loan Trust Fund for disbursement else it will embark on a mammoth demonstration.
Head of Operations for the Coalition, Simon Awotomia indicated that beneficiaries of the loans are facing numerous challenges due to the delay of payment. Read the statement below:Latest Stories
