Government is optimistic that a meeting to bring together feuding factions in the Nkonya Alavanyo conflict in an effort to find a lasting solution to the unrest in the area will yield positive result.
The two factions after deadly clashes in June last year, signed a declaration never to use conflict to settle their differences.
Two people were shot and killed that clash between the two ethnic groups.
A dusk-to-dawn curfew was however imposed on residents of the feuding factions. It was later relaxed several months after.
Speaking to Joy News, Volta Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo said the current security situation has improved.
According to him, his outfit after consultation with the Interior Minister has decided to relax the curfew hours further.
He said the situation in the area has improved over the past two months.
He hoped the mediation talks between the feuding parties which is expected to begin in the next few days would yield fruits.
