The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of St Francis Xavier Minor Seminary in Wa in the Upper West region has donated a 15 seater Nissan Minivan Bus to the school.
The vehicle which is valued at GH 87,089.85 was in fulfilment of a pledge made by the PTA towards the Golden Jubilee Celebration held on 8th December 2013.
Chairman of the PTA, Mr Ambrose Banaaleh who presented the vehicle on behalf of the PTA revealed that it has been the cherished dream of the PTA to provide a comfortable means of transport to the school.
Mr. Banaaleh said their gesture is their widow’s mite which they believe will pave the way for other donors including the government to come to their aid.
‘‘We dream and assure that many more good things will follow for this noble institution,’’ he revealed.
The Bishop of the Wa Catholic Diocese, Paul Bemile who received the keys to the vehicle on behalf of the school said the presentation was indeed timely since the previous means of transportation had broken down.
He said the PTA should continue to take the lead in solving some of the school's problems.
He added that the vehicle should be used judiciously and urged the administration of the school to maintain the bus in good condition.
