About 2,000 households in 21 districts will be benefiting from the cash for the poor programme being implemented by the government by the end of February.
Under a Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme, extremely poor households will receive between GH 8 and 15.
Although the programme has been described by some politicians as an attempt to buy votes, it is set to take off by the end of the month with 2,000 households benefiting.
The Deputy Minister of Youth, Manpower and Employment, Frema Osei-Opare speaking to Joy News, said the necessary data required to guide disbursement to targeted people have already been gathered.
She also said special identification cards have been prepared for the beneficiaries of the first disbursement.
