The vetting committee of the New Patriotic Party has given the National Chairman Aspirant, Paul Afoko the green light to contest the position.
Mr Afoko’s bid was held in abeyance after one David Gyasi petitioned the committee accusing Afoko of being an ex-convict in UK.
But the UK court in a comprehensive report confirmed that Afoko was never arrested or imprisoned as alleged.
In an exclusive interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, an elated Paul Afoko thanked God for vindicating him.
He said though he was not bothered by the ‘ghostly’ petition, his campaign was somewhat affected.
The National Chairman aspirant thanked his supporters for believing in him during the trying times.
Paul Afoko was optimistic the party delegates will vote massively for him at the upcoming Tamale congress on April 12.
