Two final year students of Juaben Senior High School in the Ashanti region have been arrested by the Ejisu Police for allegedly gang-raping a form one student of the school.
Daniel Opoku and Paul Otabil are reported to have taken undue advantage of recent power outages on campus, to rape the 15-year old girl on campus.
The two students were arrested after the victim reported her ordeal to the school’s Senior House Mistress.
According to the police, the form one student fell into a trap of the two suspects who were in the dormitory after they had excused themselves from an ongoing school entertainment program on March 15.
The victim, after picking her clothes from a drying line near the old poultry in the school; tore her slippers whilst in a rush to avoid being beaten by the rain. She went to the nearby boys’ dormitory for slippers from a colleague student, Daniel Opoku at about 6pm on the said date.
Ejisu District Commander, Superintendent Stephen Kwasi Kwakye told Nhyira News the victim was allegedly dragged by Daniel and colleague, Paul into the room to be raped. According to Supt Kwakye, the two suspects held their victim’s mouth tight to prevent her from shouting and had sex with her in turns.
Meanwhile, Juaben Circuit Court has remanded the two to re-appear two weeks later.
