Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom IV, President of Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs has urged parents to provide their children with basic needs to encourage them to stay in school.
Addressing chiefs and elders at his place at Nkoranza, Okatakyie Kudom, who is also Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, advised parents to minimize expenses on social activities and invest in the education of their children.
He also asked parents to take advantage of the Capitation Grant and other educational programmes initiated by government to enroll their children in schools.
Okatakyie Kudom commended a group of citizens of the area resident abroad who had donated 10,500 exercise books for distribution to Junior Secondary Schools in the district.
Okatakyie Agyemang said the foresight of the donors was a clear manifestation of their interest in the development of the area and urged other citizens to emulate the donors.
