The GSE All Share Index of the Accra bourse on Thursday made a significant gain when it shot up by 40.99 points to break for the Easter holidays.
The Index, which saw a steady rise since Monday, rallied to close at 7,208.42 points from 7,167.43 points on Wednesday.
Traded volumes, however, declined at 98,800 shares on Thursday from 1,446,700 shares on at previous trading session with Home Finance Company selling the highest at 61,100 shares.
Change year to date now stands at 9.22 per cent.
On the broader market, there were five price changes, three positives and two negatives. Ecobank Trans-national Incorporated gained 0.02 GH Pesewas at 1.34 GH cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank and Total petroleum Ghana Limited were both richer by 0.01 GH pesewas at 1.19 GH cedis and 5.56 GH cedis respectively.
The two losers, Ghana Oil Company Limited and State Insurance Company both lost 0.01 GH pesewas to close at 0.27 GH pesewas and 0.39 GH pesewas respectively.
Market capitalisation rose to close the session at 13,555.61 million GH cedis from 13,529.94 million GH cedis.
