The Northern regional branch of the Tertiary Education Students Conference (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has endorsed the candidature of aspiring General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.
A join statement signed by presidents of TESCON in various tertiary institutions in the Northern region described Mr. Agyapong as a selfless leader needed to steer the affairs of the party in its bid to win power in the 2016 general elections.
They noted that Mr. Agyapong's dedication to the NPP is worthy emulation by all especially the youth in the party.
Below is the full statement:
As TESCON Presidents of the New Patriotic Party in Northern Ghana, we are convinced beyond doubt that the party needs a strategist as its next General Secretary.
Having listened to the messages of all aspirants, we believe Kwabena Agyei Agyepong is best for the chief scribe job of our party.
Kwabena’s enviable record in the Party, especially in the areas of communication, electoral affairs and an appreciable knowledge of grounds operation is crucial in the forward movement of the New Patriotic Party.
We are awed by his spirited determination to put aside his presidential dream for now in this critical moment of our party. His decision to contest the General secretaryship shows a great commitment to our party. He is indeed selfless, dedicated and worthy to be emulated by the youth of our party
We are calling on the delegates of the New Patriotic Party to trust Kwabena to marshal forces together to ensure massive victory in 2016.
We believe he has the capabilities, having worked with virtually every leader of the party, to genuinely unite it for the much-needed victory.
To the delegates of our great Party, TESCON and the youth of the Northern Sector cannot wait to welcome you. Let’s all come to Tamale thinking of victory and how to build a solid party.
