The Electoral Commission (EC) will carry out a limited voter registration in June this year.
The June registration process is to give persons who have turned 18 years since the 2012 registration, as well as those whose names are not already in the electoral roll the chance to do so.
Chairman of the Commission Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan says the qualifications and registration procedures will remain same.
Dr. Afari-Gyan was speaking at a consultative forum on the public election regulation CI 75 in Kumasi.
He however acknowledges the EC will face a challenge on how to prevent persons who have already registered from re-registering, but says culprits shall face the full rigours of the law.
Meanwhile Ghana will hold its second referendum alongside the next local level elections.
The referendum will ask Ghanaians to approve or reject amendments to entrenched positions proposed by the Constitution Review Commission.
Dr. Afari-Gyan is however worried low voter turnout often associated with the local level elections could affect the validity of the referendum.
