Member of Parliament for Suhum has launched an operation vote-against-incumbent-national-executives who are seeking re-election in Saturday's New Patriotic Party National Delegates Conference.
Frederick Opare Ansah believes the incumbent executives having presided over two election defeats (they actually supervised just one election in 2012) do not have the moral courage to lead the party.
Speaking to Joy News' Elton John Brobbey on his arrival at Tamale, venue for Saturday's congress, the MP said he would from Thursday begin a massive campaign against such executives.
National Chairman Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, National Organiser Moctar Bamba and National Womens Organiser Otiko Dzaba are all looking forward to retaining their positions as national executives.
First Vice Chair, Fred Oware has decided to also contest his boss Jake Obetsebi Lamptey .
Opare Ansah insisted he would make sure that none of incumbent executives is selected.
He said the executives are not capable of leading the party to victory in 2016.
"I don't expect a change in leadership. I expect an overhaul. We have to completely overhaul our engine. Top to down.
He said explanations by the leadership for the party's defeats in the two previous elections were untenable.
"They do not in any way qualify to lead this party," he said.
"That is why I have come on Thursday. Between now and Saturday. I am going on the ground to speak to delegates. By Saturday I am sure there is going to be a change in leadership," he said.
Meanwhile the Deputy Minority Leader Dominic Nitiwul is asking the delegates to vote according to their conscience.
He said the new executives to be elected will surely lead the party into government and they need to be men of substance.
