A former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea says without Nana Akuffo-Addo as the Presidential candidate, the party risks losing the 2016 elections.
He explained that Nana Akufo-Addo’s popularity among the Ghanaian electorate was unmatched by that of any other Presidential hopefuls in the party.
Though the former Okaikoi South constituency Member of Parliament believed the process of electing a flagbearer for the party should be maintained, he said Nana Akufo-Addo remained the best candidate.
“I believe Nana Akuffo Addo is still the most popular person among those who are seeking to lead the party; I believe so, I speak to people on a daily basis and I myself I have been a Parliamentarian for 16 years so I have a huge constituency.”
He stressed, “because of my position as Director of Communication I am in touch with party supporters across the country who speak to me on a daily basis and I know firmly that Nana Akufo-Addo is still the man to pick.”
Nana Akomea’s endorsement came in the wake of controversies surrounding who should lead the NPP in 2016.
