A team of African Development Bank Executive Directors have begun a field trip to asses the performance of projects and programmes funded by the Bank Group in some of its regional member countries.
The tour, which will end on February 27, involves nine executive directors, a statement from the Bank received in Accra on Friday said. They will visit Bank-funded projects and confer with the beneficiaries, top government officials, development partners, private sector operators as well as civil society to get a sense of the impact of the projects on the people of Seychelles, Mauritius, and the Comoros.
The field trip falls within the framework of efforts deployed by the Bank Group's management to ensure development effective of its interventions on the ground with a view to improving the quality of services it renders to its shareholders and clients.
During the tour, the executive directors will also evaluate the capacity of the countries to absorb funding approved by the Bank Group. The African Development Bank (AfDB) is a regional multilateral development finance institution established in 1964 to mobilize resources for the economic development and social progress of its Regional Member Countries.
