An Nkawkaw District court has discontinued a case brought by an NPP member which stalled the Nkawkaw constituency primaries to elect a Parliamentary candidate.
The case was discontinued following a decision by complainant, Mr. George Alhassan to withdraw it from the court.
This now paves the way for the constituency to organise its primaries to elect a candidate for the December elections.
The complainant secured an injunction two weeks ago stopping the primary.
He argued there were internal problems to be resolved involving a third candidate in the contest
Although a date has not yet been set for the primaries, the sitting Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw, Mr. Kobina Edusei says he is relieved by the decision.
“The National Executive Committee took a decision that I and Yaw Owusu Addo should contest the elections” he said.
He told Joy News that he was aware of the stiff opposition he faced from the Director of Radio at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation but remained confident of winning.
Cost of hundred Ghana cedis was awarded against the complainant Mr. George Alhassan by the court.
