A delegation from Volvo, led by the Senior Vice President, Dominique Pollien, is on an official visit in the country to affirm the importance of Ghana as a major hub for the car and trucks maker in sub Saharan Africa.
The visit among other things according to Mr. Pollien was also to acquaint themselves with the operations of SMT Ghana, authorized dealers of Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Trucks, Volvo Penta & Volvo Bus.
The visiting delegation toured the premises of both the Accra and Tarkwa branches of SMT Ghana.
SMT Ghana, a subsidiary of the SMT Group is the official importer of Volvo Construction Equipment and has 17 branches in 12 countries in West and Central Africa.
Speaking to newsmen in an interview, the Managing Director of SMT Ghana, Mr. Denis Pylyser said SMT Ghana was delighted to represent a premium brand such as Volvo.
Volvo is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of quality construction equipments.
He said his outfit has invested a lot to see the growth of such partnership with the Volvo brand through the establishment of its 3 branches located in Accra, Tarkwa and Kumasi.
“To achieve this it’s vital for us to build a strong relationship with our customers, we would like to be part of our customer’s growth in their business by providing a state-of-the-art after sales support and being available at all times” he said.
He announced that SMT Ghana has launched a finance facility which finances as high as 85% of the total value of trucks and machines
