The National Disaster Management Organisation in Ho in the Volta Region has carried out a demolition exercise on structures they marked to be on water ways.
This follows floods in some part of the town, after a heavy downpour Thursday night.
The Municipal NADMO coordinator, Christian Attoh, told Joy News, the organisation gave prior notice to building owners before the demolition exercise.
"We started at 11:00 am as we said. It was successful," he said.
He added that they destroyed about 10 containers and kiosks that were on water ways.
He said they also removed bill boards and all structures around junctions and round-about that impeded smooth vehicular movement.
Christian Attoh said the demolition will continue next Friday.
