A group calling itself the Floating Voters Associate has emerged from the Kwabri East Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The association seeks to create the platform from people the organisers call disappointed voters to quiz the presidential and parliamentary aspirants on policy issues.
It hopes to make it possible for people who ordinarily will not have the benefit of meeting the candidates one-on-one to make informed choices.
Speaking to Luv FM’s Saeed Ali Yakub the Chairman of the association Mr. Kwabena Amoah says the group which was formed barely a week ago has over 200 members.
He said people in constituency disappointed and had therefore decoded “not vote at all”.
But with the formation of the association, the people were committed to ensuring that they “will only sit down and be lectured by politicians”.
Luv FM’s Ali Yakub reminded him that floating voters were people who were not politically active and that with the formation of the association, members of the FVA had become politically active and were therefore not qualified to be called floating voters.
But he disagreed, saying the fact that the association was not attached to any political party qualified it an association whose members comprised of floating voters.
