The accounts of the University of Ghana have not been audited over a period of three years despite allegations of corrupt practices by authorities.According to the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, the accounts of the university had not been audited since 2005.The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Silas Mensah expressed worry over situation and blamed the Auditor General’s department for failing to live up to expectation.In an Interview with a Joy reporter on Friday Mr. Mensah said the Auditor General’s department must be up and doing.“If up till now the accounts of the University for 2005, 2006 and 2007 are all not ready then it means the state institutions which are supposed to audit these institutions are not up to the task.” He lamented.Mr Mensah advised the Auditor Generals department to scrutinize the accounts of the University in order to bring officials found to have embezzled public funds to book.The accusation comes in the wake of corruption charges leveled at the authorities of the University of Ghana by the students.On Wednesday, a former JCR President of the Common wealth Hall Benjamin Akyena Brentuo demanded the dismissal of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. C.
