The Police on Friday arrested 24 suspected criminals at various locations during a dawn swoop in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, the Western Regional Police Commander, said at a press briefing at Takoradi.
He said the suspects included Sunday Aggu and Latif Adebayo, both Nigerians, Janet Arhin, a woman and Alex Tay who were all on the Police wanted list.
The other suspects were Kwame Esuon, Papa Eric, Prince Mark Baidoo, John Cobbinah, Daniel Mustaph, Nii Sackey, Nana Foster, Francis Kwameson, John Eshun, Kwesi Nsu Nyameye, Isaac Biney, Paul Aidoo, Samuel Ofori Agyeman, Samuel Quarshie, Appiadu Rawlings, Francis Allotey, Moses Mensah, John Ahiamoah, Afedie Nyarko and Emmanuel Dodi Gyamfi.
Mr Alhassan said the suspects who were arrested at their hideouts would be screened and those found to be criminals would be prosecuted.
Items found on the suspects included three single barrel guns, 900 pieces of cartridges, offensive weapons, and leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and a liquid substance suspected to be local gin.Source: GNA
