Ghanaian software firm, Teksol has launched a new web-based fund management system, FundPlus.
FundPlus is a secured software platform for the management of funds in the investment banking industry.
The financial software has a complete accounting solution and enables institutions to manage pension funds, provident funds, mutual funds, portfolio or high worth institutional and individual funds.
Speaking to JOY BUSINESS at the launch of the product, CEO of Teksol, Louis Amenyo Adanuty noted FundPlus is the first of its kind on the Ghanaian market. Explaining the rationale behind the product, he said the fund mangement industry in Ghana is still in its growth stage and there was the need to partner the industry players to build capacity to held grow the industry.
"It's high time we look internally for solutions to solve our own problems, rather than looking outside and that's what motivated the development of FundPlus And so if you are on this platform, you don't need to use a third party accounting software to run your business", he said.
Present at the launch was the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Adu Anani Antwi who endorsed the product. He said FundPlus will help fund managers keep records and generate reports easily - both to the regulator and investors.
"It will enable investors know what is happening and that boost their confidence in what the market is offering and enable them know where to put their investments" he said.
Teksol currently software manager for 43 companies in the banking sector.
