The December 7 general elections have become the main topic of discussion in the Ho township, with just three-days to election day.
The election, is being discussed in churches, market places, schools, entertainment spots and anywhere people meet in the Ho Municipality.
When the GNA visited the Ho Polytechnic campus on Wednesday evening, some students were spotted attending lectures in party colours.
A lady in her mid 20s, who was in NDC shirt said she was advertising the party.
At Liberty hostel, some male students were seen arguing, comparing the records of the two main political parties and predicting, which of them is likely to win Sunday’s elections.
The two main political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), are visibly on the ground, campaigning throughout the day and sometimes blaring party songs on huge loudspeakers.
Sympathisers of the parties could also be seen in party paraphernalia 24 hours daily.
Unlike in the 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 elections, the supporters of the NPP have become bolder as they openly showed off the party’s colours.
The offices of the NDC and the NPP in the municipality have been busy for the past few days as people trooped in and out in preparation for the polls.
Though opened, the offices the Convention People’s (CPP) were without much activity while the offices of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) remained closed for about a month now.
The Regional Youth Organisers of NDC and NPP, Mr. Maxwell Owusu-Siaw, and Mr Maxwell Blagodzi, respectively told the GNA that their parties were preparing feverishly for the Sunday’s polls.
