The presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, says victory for him and his party in the crucial 2008 elections is undoubted.
Asked whether he was sure of winning the elections after he cast his vote at the Council Lane polling station in his home constituency, the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem, he answered, “absolutely”.
Dr. Nduom said violence during the elections was completely unnecessary and urged the electorate to exercise restraint.
For him, those who say the CPP cannot win the elections and therefore will not vote for the party were making a big mistake.
After casting his vote, the CPP flag-bearer toured almost all polling stations in the constituency to observe the voting process.
The balloting generally was peaceful and serene in the constituency.
At some polling stations, police officers monitoring the process were sleeping because there was virtually nothing to do.
Party agents of the NPP and the NDC were seen at many polling stations chit chattering and sharing gifts.
Voters appeared relaxed as some sat on benches and waited patiently for their turns to vote.
