He's hysterical every time he speaks and I often find his composure electrifying.
He needs no introduction - the mayor of the Millennium city Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije.
When I picked the dailies three years ago and read an article about his promise to make Accra a tourist destination bar none by the time he was done with his work, I whispered to myself 'Finally the savior of the dirty city'.
He tried to let us all understand that he had a good vision for the cosmopolitan city. Development across board - sanitation, help improve business climate, ensure law enforcement is top notch. At the time I was convinced that indeed he has what it takes to make the change.
Today? I am uncertain if I can say same of you Oko V. Cholera has claimed
Iives and filth seems to be the permanent tenant. And you Oko V will be blamed for all of this.
Nana Akomea and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako had a go at the man on joy fm's news analysis show NewsFile and I found their submissions interesting.
Kweku says Oko V ( permit me to call you as such. It's short and classy) owes us all an apology for his latest action of causing the arrest of three journalists. And then Kweku went for the jugular -- 'President Mahama must redeploy him or have him sacked'. Sounds like a sniper's shot. Quick and direct.

Nana Akomea on the other hand pointed to the bigger canvas and a sound admission -'leaders over the years have failed to handle this illegal settlements issue. mr Vanderpuiye is a fine gentleman. I have my own difference on some of his actions but I do know he is a fine gentleman'.
Michaela Anderson last week made us all stop to think about what the Mensah Guinea demolition has caused for children and their education. A school building was reduced to rubble as part of the demolition.
Listening to the children complain about how their dreams has been frozen kicked rage in me initially but I had to reorganize.
After chronicling all of this, I know you have views about the Accra Mayor.
But here is my piece of opinion.

Mr Vanderpuije you chose to take on the mantle of making Accra a centerpiece of attraction. With your experience I want to believe you have a master plan.
What I know is that many don't know this master plan.
Your actions are described as Rambo style. Some call for more as they see your vision. Many unfortunately don't.
Some want you sacked.
I think it's so because you have failed to explain to everyone what your intent and plan of execution is.
You have a nice originally African beard that no one can feign ignoring.
Do us a favour. Show us your plan. Make sure you communicate it so well to everyone. That's step one.
Proceed to drop your 'Mayweather defense' when people come with barrages of verbal punches to question your competence. Rather let us all in on your master plan.
I ask that you do this because your office is a political one.
Don't make the public outcry of your dismissal come true.
If there's a deficiency of leadership, are you part of it? Can you rewrite the script? Can you make us believe you once more?
Or let me offer a nice clean shave. I will be glad to take off the African shiny beard of yours and go to town shouting ' Oko V asked me to take off his beard as a sign of a new beginning with you people of Accra. He says he is ready to let you understand him and together make the Millennium city plan come true'.
