The Atwima-Mponua District Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Emmanuel Duah-Atobra, has said that the Commission has drawn a comprehensive tax education programme to sensitise the people in the area to pay their taxes regularly.
This, he said, would help the government in revenue collection to support the provision of social amenities including schools, hospitals, clinics and roads.
Mr Duah-Atobra was speaking at a tax education forum organized by the NCCE at Nyinahin.
He noted that no country could develop without good tax system and urged self-employed workers to honour their tax obligation to improve the revenue base of the country.
The Director advised revenue collecting agencies against indulging in any financial malpractices that would affect tax collection.
Mr Duah-Atobra urged the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to set up more tax bureau to help improve revenue collection.
