President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday conferred with a number of foreign delegations at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). They included those from Japan, Libya, Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The delegations conveyed separate messages of congratulations to President Mills from their governments and re-affirmed their countries' commitment towards closer cooperation with Ghana. Former Japanese Prime Minister Juichiro Koizumi led the delegation from Japan and that of Libya was headed by Dr Said Hafiyana, Special
Envoy of Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi, while Mr Mohammed Elyazjhi, a Minister of State in Morocco and Dr Bola Almed Tinubu, Former Governor of Lagos State, led the Moroccan and Nigerian delegations, respectively. Speaking to journalists, Dr Tinubu acknowledged the maturity of Ghana's democracy, saying the country had shown leadership and added, "Ghana has made Africa proud".
