Sixty-four people including 12 men have been trained in powder and soap making at Abotareye, a farming community in the Nkwanta District of the Volta Region.
The training was organized by Women and Development Project (WADEP) an NGO, to give the people an economic activity in addition to farming to improve their living standards.
Madam Jane Amewu, Training Officer of the project said that the training was in response to a request from the people.
She advised the trainees to teach others to improve on their economic status.
Madam Amewu said the NGO assisted the people to construct a school block last year and urged them to encourage their children to attend school to become useful citizens in society.
