The Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs has congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills on his election as the President of the Republic of Ghana and commended his pledge to reconcile the nation for total development.
A statement signed by Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II, President of the House and issued to the Ghana News Agency said: “Nananom are also optimistic that under your able leadership the country will continue to be the oasis of peace in West Africa”.
The House expressed the hope that the chieftaincy institution would be adequately resourced to enable it to play its role as a partner in national development.
“Nananom assure you, Your Excellency, of their unflinching support to ensure that during your tenure of office the country would make greater strides in all spheres of social, economic and political development,” the statement said.
It commended the political parties and their candidates, the Electoral Commission, security agencies, the media as well as national and international observers for their roles in ensuring successful and peaceful election.
The House congratulated Ghanaians for the peaceful and matured manner they conducted themselves during the electoral process, especially in the run-off and appealed to all and sundry to bury their political differences and rally solidly behind the government in the execution of its policies and programmes.
