The Kumasi Metropolitan Security Council (METSEC) has urged its residents to abide by all rules of the lockdown directive as it has been extended for one week.
In a statement, the Council’s Secretary, Kwadwo Boateng said adherence to the directive is in the interest of residents in order to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country at large.
He noted that people who are caught flouting the rules will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“In this regard, no loitering shall be entertained by the enforcement team within the metropolis.”
Mr Boateng cautioned market traders to practice the preventive measures particularly social distancing or risk complete closure of their markets.
“Let us remember to adhere to all safety measures as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ tomorrow, Sunday, April 12, 2020.
