Sixty-eight police personnel at the Koforidua Central Police Station who were contact traced and tested for Covid-19 have tested negative for the second time.
The 68 personnel were traced and tested following the death of a senior police officer at the police station.
The deceased allegedly died of Covid-19, a claims many of his colleagues have disputed.
According to them, the officer has not been well for almost three years before his passing.
Shortly after the news of the officer's demise and subsequent rumour of Covid-19 infection, police officers in Koforidua were stigmatised by taxi drivers and other sections of society.
Drivers in the municipality we unwilling to offer their services to the men in uniform with the excuse that they may be carrying the virus.
However, a second test conducted on the 68 police personnel at the station revealed that they are free from Covid-19, according to the Ghana Health Service, Koforidua.
The Koforidua Central Police Station Commander Chief Supt Raymond Kofi Erzuah has advised the officers to continue to keep calm and feel free to work without fear.
He asked his men to religiously follow all the safety protocols on Covid-19 and continue to protect themselves against the virus.
