Government has declared Friday July, 31, 2020, a public holiday.
It is to mark the Muslim celebration of Eid-al-Adha also known as the Festival of Sacrifices.
In a press statement signed by the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, it stated that “the general public is hereby reminded that Friday, July 31, 2020, which marks Eid-al-Adha, is a statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
The statement further cautioned the general public to adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols ven as they celebrate the Eid-al-Adha.
“The general public is advised to observe the safety protocols associated with the novel coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) especially in relation to social events at public places.”
