The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said Ghanaians have witnessed the efficient management of the country by voting President Akufo-Addo into office in 2016.
Freddie Blay said that is good enough reason to renew the mandate of the governing party to steers the affairs of the country in the right direction.

He said in less than four years the country's ailing economy which the current administration inherited from the former administration has been corrected by the efficient managers put in place by President Akufo-Addo.
“It is an indication of what NPP was in 2016 and is now and will be in the future, tackling the economy and advancing good governance for all of us. We are, therefore, asking people in this country that come December 7, based on what we say we will offer, take us seriously, vote for us again and we will deliver,” he said.
Speaking in Cape Coast on Saturday where the NPP is launching its 2020 manifesto, Mr Blay said, renewing the mandate of the party will put the country in a good pedestal as it will witness a lot of development.

On his part, Deputy Energy Minister, Dr Amin Adam said former President Mahama could not have provided Ghanaians with free electricity even in difficult times because the sector was saddled with debts then.
He said load shedding, popularly called ‘dumsor’ cost the country $680 million in 2014 which was about 2% of GDP at that time.

“The Energy sector faces unprecedented financial crisis under the NDC government which could not even support the procurement of fuel to run plants.
“President Akufo-Addo has not only found the means to secure fuel supply over the last three years but has also cleared all government debt owed the Electricity Company of Ghana,” he said.
