Efforts by political parties to convince residents to vote them in the December 7, election have been characterized by diverse activities, including health walks.
In the Tafo Pankrono constituency in Ashanti region hundreds of residents, walked through the principal streets to show their support to NDC's parliament candidate, Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil.
The party describes the turnout in the constituency as a sign of victory come December 7.
“I have never seen this turnout before. This is the first of its kind for the party,” one of the supporters of the party said.
The walk is aimed at creating awareness of the Party’s readiness to capture power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.
The party had already held a series of activities including meeting some community leaders, youth groups among others to canvass for votes to secure victory.
The Tafo Pankrono Constituency has been the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since it was carved out of Suame in 2004.
Parliamentary candidate for the NDC, Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil is optimistic of wresting power from the ruling government.
“You can see the number of people who came out. They all want change,” he said.
The residents who were excited at the initiative promised to vote for the party.
