With a few days to Ghana's general elections, all presidential and parliamentary candidates have intensified their campaign activities across the country.
These activities also include political debates organized by civil society organizations and other stakeholders.
In view of this, the Catholic Dioceses of Sekondi-Takoradi "Justice and Peace Commission and Ghana Catholic Bishop's Conference on Tuesday, November 24, organized the Essikado-Ketan Constituency Town Hall Meeting at Kojokrom.
The forum, held for the three Parliamentary candidates eyeing the seat, was to give them an opportunity to hightlight their visions for the constituency.
The three included Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah who is representing the NDC, Frank Cobbinah, who is the parliamentary candidate for the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) and Joe Ghartey, the NPP's representative.
The Town Hall Meeting was held on the theme "The role of parliament, local authorities and participatory governance in development".
But the absence of the incumbent NPP MP who doubles as the Railway Minister, Joe Ghartey has been the topic of conversation since the forum.
Many of the constituents have subsequently described his action as total disrespect for the chiefs and organisers of the event.
"We don't even understand, why a lawyer should be afraid of a surgeon specialist. Upon all his facts, he swerved a constituency debate", one constituent said.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Candidates for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah and Ghana Union Movement representative, Frank Cobbinah were present to abreast the constituents with their developmental plan for Essikado-Ketan Constituency.
