The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Thursday donated some relief items to the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital in Accra.
During a brief opening address for the event, the former Education Minister stated that the donation forms part of the NDC's mission to meet the needs of the hospital, as stated in its manifesto.

"Mental health is something that should interest all of us. It’s an aspect of health that can affect everyone at every level at different times. It’s important that these facilities are not only upgraded but also maintained. And not only the physical structures but the people too,’’ she said.

Prof. Opoku Agyemang was accompanied by the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who reiterated Prof Jane's sentiments.

MP-elect for the Madina constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu, and a few other party executives were also present at the function.
Head of the hospital facility, Frank Obeng, who received the items on behalf of the staff and patients, expressed gratitude to the party for fulfilling its promise.

Amongst the donations to the leading psychiatric hospital in Ghana were food items and hospital beds for the female ward.
