The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has called for more enforcement of Covid-19 protocols in the country.
In a Facebook post, Founder of the Perez Chapel International and member of the Council, Bishop Charles Agyinasare disclosed that the Council (GPCC) is doing its part by calling on God to intervene through prayers.
However, citizens also have a role to play by strictly adhering to the safety protocols as directed by government, the Ghana Health Service and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
"In light of the recent developments regarding the coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary for all Ghanaians to act appropriately; otherwise, another lockdown would be inevitable," he said.

The GPCC’s call follows a recent spike in active Covid-19 cases in the country as well as the detection of new variants of the coronavirus as indicated by President Akufo-Addo in his 22nd address on Ghana's Covid-19 situation.
The GPCC’s said its "call for more enforcement of the Covid-19 protocols is, therefore, necessary and timely," since the country cannot afford another lockdown.
"We are just coming out of a prayer meeting of senior Charismatic and Pentecostal Apostolic Fathers in Accra, where, among other things, we prayed that the virus’ power over the nation would be broken because we cannot afford to have businesses and other major sectors in the country shut down again.
"While we are praying, we wish to entreat all that, as a nation, we would collectively rise to the occasion; and as individuals, we would protect ourselves and our neighbours," he added.
Speaking on other matters, the Bishop entreated President Akufo-Addo to appoint government officials who will prioritise the well-being of society over personal interests.
"Finally, we also prayed that, as the President selects and appoints the officers to work with him, he would find the right people: people who are selfless and who have the interests of the nation at heart," he said.
