The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is asking candidates who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE) but failed to secure automatic placement into their selected Senior High Schools to use the self-placement process.
It said the Ghana Education Service (GES) started the process to secure placement in other schools
National Coordinator for CSSPS, Mark Sasu Mensah in an interview with Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye Monday said more than 150,000 candidates failed to secure automatic placement.
He said this is a reason another opportunity has been given to them to self-place in other schools with available spaces.
Mr Sasu Mensah explained that more than 41,000 candidates have also been disqualified.
“About 41,359 candidates were disqualified. This means that they had incomplete results or had 9 in either English or Maths or both subject,” he said.
The CSSPS also says that more than 300,000 candidates qualified and were automatically placed in Senior High schools of their choice.
Mark Sasu Mensah wants candidates who failed to gain automatic placement into any of their chosen schools to call the Ghana Education Service Call Centre for a smoother process in securing schools with vacancies.
