Today, host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guest, Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu took a further look into the nitty-gritty of the Rent Control Law 1986 (PNDCL 138) which is still in force.
PRO at Rent Control Department, Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu in an earlier interview on The Law weeks ago indicated that it is illegal to increase the rent rate without approval.
All new rent rates he says must be approved by the Rent Control Department to ensure that they are reasonable and befit the condition of the premises that is being rented.
