The Criminal Procedure Code, 1960 (Act 30) of the Constitution provides a Ghanaian the ability to procure the release of an accused person from legal custody.

In Ghana, some three types of bail applications are available for an accused person. These include police enquiry bail, bail pending trial and bail pending appeal.

Today on The Law, host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guest, Martin Kpebu - a Private legal practitioner discussed how the law governing bail works, its categories, the exceptions and where applicable.
