Rapper Strongman has released a new song in the wake of the FixTheCountry campaign.

The song 'FixIt' highlights the concerns of the #FixTheCountry supporters and the need for leaders to make decisions that could help lessen the burden of the people.

He stated that although governments have made promises to the people countless times, they have failed to fulfill many of those promises.

Strongman also talks about other issues including unemployment, bad roads, increase in road accidents, among others. He stressed on the need for politicians to serve the citizens by honouring their campaign promises.

Some unhappy Ghanaians are venting their spleens over what many describe as a failure on the part of successive governments to improve the lives of the citizenry.

The campaign began on Monday, May 1, when petroleum prices were said to increase following the implementation of new levies. Mostly made up of the youth, tens of thousands of posts have been made on social media highlighting some inadequacies in the society.

Despite efforts by government including the Nation Builders’ Corp (NABCO), National Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) and other commitments towards investing in the growing human capital, some Twitter users say the impact is not felt on the ground.

Dominant in the sentiments shared on Twitter are rising youth unemployment, dilapidated health system, skyrocketing home-renting structure, poor road networks among others.

“This is the right time for us to stand up and come together as one people to speak and let them [government] know that we are tired,” Joshua Boye-Doe, a social media user and initiator of the #FixTheCountry campaign said.

The group had chosen to embark on a march on Sunday May 9 but the Ghana Police Service on Thursday announced the court has granted them a restraining order to stop the march.
