Covid-19 has left an indelible mark on many facets of our lives. From governance right down to family life, everything and everyone has been affected.
On the educational front, the effects have been many and varied. Many pupils, it is clear, have struggled to cope academically since returning to school after the year-long pandemic-induced break.
At the Deyoungster's International School in Kokomlemle, the Headmaster, William Ossah Adjei, explains just how much of a toll the year-long absence from learning has taken on the pupils of his school.
"We just ended our first term and we're back. Going through their [pupils'] report cards, you would see that it has really worried us - because most learners have lost it. We're trying as much as possible to bring them up, but it hasn't been easy at all!"
Emmanuel Asante, a teacher of English, also speaks of how the struggle, mainly, has had to do with the broken chain of teaching for so long and the many areas to be covered, now that pupils are back in school.
He said: "The kids, I can see clearly, have had some learning losses. Staying home for one year is really a loss to learning."
