Some persons who received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine between March 2 and 9 this year are currently taking the second jab.
As part of the roll-out plan, all those who took the first jab are scheduled to receive a text message with an indication of the date to visit their designated centres for the next dose.
However, there is a possibility that some people may not receive the said text messages.
Speaking on JoyNews, the Director of Risk Communication on Covid-19 Taskforce, Dr Aboagye Dacosta said those who do not receive the text message after two or three days, can still visit their centres to be inoculated.
“If you wait for two to three days and you’ve not received the text message, you can go to the centre where you were initially vaccinated, for them to check,” he said Wednesday.
This, he said is very vital as “it could be that we couldn’t capture your number well or you gave us a wrong number, so we have put measures in place to address that as well.”
Dr Dacosta further indicated that those who may have misplaced their cards can undergo the second phase using the text messages received.
Meanwhile, information reaching JoyNews indicates that some of the centres are yet to receive the new cards that would be issued to confirm that an individual has received the second dose.
But, Dr Dacosta said the news comes as a surprise as adequate arrangements were made to ensure all centres receive the cards and on time.
“We have enough to cover the 360,000 population that will be vaccinated and we have dispatched all,” he explained.
