The Police in the Bono East Region has arrested three suspected car-snatching syndicates at Malam Issa, a suburb of Techiman.
The suspects, who were identified as Hudu Moro alias Sky, Kwame Ameyaw aka Amakye and Kwasi Adrah, had allegedly stolen a Kia Rhino truck with the registration number GX 9748-13 on August 2, this year.
In an interview with JoyNews, the Deputy Regional Police Commander, DCOP Samuel Alfred Winful, said the driver of the vehicle received a phone call from his friend in the area where the car was parked that the vehicle had vanished.

The driver quickly reported the matter to the police for investigation.
"Whilst investigation was in place; the Tuobodom Police had information that the accused persons were offering a Kia Rhino truck for sale at Nkoranza.
“A team of Police personnel led by the station officer C/Inspt Barry Wuni laid an ambush in an uncompleted hotel at Nkoranza where he lured the accused persons to the area and got them arrested," he added.

All three persons, in their caution statements, admitted having conspired to steal.
They have been charged with an offence of conspiracy to steal and arraigned before the Techiman Circuit court, where they were remanded into Police custody to reappear on September 1, 2021.
The police described the arrest as a breakthrough and charged the general public to give the police enough information that would lead to more arrests of such criminals in society.
