Former Ashaiman MP, Alfred Agbesi, has described as unsubstantiated, allegations made against him, by a taxi driver who claims to have killed several people for ritual purposes.
The suspect, Felix Ansah, who was arrested by the Police after making the allegations on an Accra-based radio station, stated in court that, he buried a pregnant woman alive at Ashaiman, to perform a sacrifice for former MP, Alfred Agbesi.
However, the former MP has unequivocally denied the allegations.
Mr Agbesi said he doesn’t know the taxi driver, nor has he ever contracted him to perform rituals for him.
“…. I do not know the said Felix Ansah, and I have never had a relationship or dealt with him before. For the avoidance of doubt, I, Alfred Agbesi, have not contacted and or contracted the said Felix Ansah to perform any sacrifice or ritual for me….”
Mr Agbesi has handed over the matter to his lawyers but says he will not take kindly to any media house or individual who continues to publish the said claims.
"It is important for all media houses and persons to note that Felix Ansah has been charged before the circuit court, Accra with the offences of publication of false news contrary to section 208 (1) of the Criminal Offences Act.
"I will not hesitate to take appropriate legal action against any individual or media house that publishes any false and defamatory statement about me," he said.
