As part of efforts to make insurance claims hassle-free for its clients, Enterprise Insurance has educated motorists on insurance and claim payments processes.
The event held at the company’s Advantage Place office in Accra was on the theme: ‘Insurance Claims Processes; a focus on Motor Insurance’.
The aim of the forum is to demystify all things related to motor insurance claims for the general public.
Speaking at the event, Senior Manager In-charge of Quality Assurance at Enterprise Insurance, Michael Otu-Larbi bemoaned the misconceptions on claims payments by the public.
He said Enterprise Insurance has paid genuine claims promptly to the utmost protection of policyholders.
Last year alone, Mr. Otu-Larbi disclosed that the company paid a total of GH¢69 million as motor insurance claims
“Enterprise Insurance had been rated AA+ from AA, which demonstrates the company’s strong financial muscle to pay claims promptly” he stressed.
As the oldest Insurance Company established in 1924, Mr. Otu-Larbi said Enterprise Insurance has improved its products to bring comfort to clients.
He cited the Third Party Amplified which was an enhanced form of the Comp Extra (Enhance Motor Comprehensive policy), which paid for damages on the windscreen, side mirrors, and minor scratches to buttress his point.
“This policy provides cover for things that are not usually covered under the standard comprehensive insurance. So typically, under the comprehensive insurance, you don’t have what we call loss of use benefit” Mr. Otu-Larbi added.
For her part, Head of the Same Day Claims, Bernice Davies called on claimants not to feel aggrieved when they are doing due diligence.
Without attempting to hold a brief for any insurance company, she stressed that, no company in Ghana will make life uncomfortable for its clients but only seek to ensure the payments are made to the right persons.
Taking the participants through the claim processes, Ms Davies urged policyholders to secure the accident scene when they were involved in an accident, report to the police when it was Third Party insurance and notify their insurers.
Same Day Claims
Bernice Davies explained that the Same Day Claims payment channel was introduced in 2018 in the company’s quest to satisfy its clients to exceed their expectations by way of claims payments.
This service, she stated enables the company to pay to minor motor insurance claims up to GH¢5000on the same day.
The requirements for same day claims payments, Madam Davies mentioned are- damaged vehicle must be present for physical inspection at the Same Day office at Airport branch together with the policyholder’s driver’s licence, among others.
She also added that the payment options for same day claim payments are bank transfer; and mobile money. While the other claims that are not qualified for same day are processed at mainstream at the various offices of the company.
