The 2021 edition of the Africa Makeup & Beauty (AMB) Fair has been scheduled from November 17 to 18. The two-day event will also include the Ghana Beauty Awards.
The Fair will come off at the Dome on the premise of Accra International Conference Centre while the Awards Night will take place at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.
The beauty industry in Ghana is worth about $6 million according to the Euro Monitor. The industry employs well over one million Ghanaians most of whom are youth especially women.
Makeup Ghana’s research indicates that the industry is growing and shows promise as a major employer in the coming years.
The organisers say the events are expected to give an exceptional experience to patrons of the night.
Makeup Ghana intends to open up the awards to encompass all aspects of beauty hence the change in name and they are dedicating this anniversary to celebrate Beauty Brands and Businesses.
It was a welcome idea when the First Choice Team engaged Makeup Ghana to jointly hold the AMB Fair and the GBA together.
The Ghana Beauty Awards (GBA) is an annual celebration for the Beauty Industry.
It is aimed at fostering excellence, by rewarding and celebrating pioneers, leading professionals and upcoming talent within the industry, as well as businesses and brands who are contributing to economic growth.
In broadening the scope of the awards to include all sectors in the beauty space, the following categories have been added;
Most Promising Barber (new category)
This category seeks to celebrate an emerging men’s hair and barbering expert who has demonstrated creativity and innovation.
Most Promising Nail Technician (new category)
This category seeks to celebrate an emerging nail specialist who has demonstrated a high level of art and skill in nail techniques.
Beauty Brand Ambassador of the Year
This category seeks to reward the most influential personality promoting a beauty brand effectively.
Student/Apprentice of the Year
This category seeks to reward an exceptional learner who has demonstrated discipline and diligence in the learning centre.
Best Hair Colourist
This category seeks to reward the most versatile and dynamic hair colourist.
Barber of the Year
This category seeks to reward a top-notch men’s hair and barbering expert who has demonstrated creativity and innovation.
People’s Choice Award
This category seeks to reward a beauty brand or an individual that has become a household name.
Best Hair Cutting Stylist (new category)
This category seeks to reward the most versatile and dynamic hair cutting stylist.
Best Salon/Studio
This seeks to celebrate the best salon or makeup studio in the country that demonstrates top-notch service and ‘stands-out’ in all areas of salon or studio business.
Best Spa and Wellness Centre
This seeks to celebrate the best spa and wellness centres in the country that demonstrates top-notch service and ‘stand-out’ in all area of spa and wellness business.
Best Customer Service Experience
This category celebrates to find the beauty brand with quality and professional finest customer service.
