Manager of 4th tier Swindon Town, Ben Garner has heaped praise on Black Stars goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott.
The 25-year old, who has featured 11 times for his side this season, has pulled up with impressive performances and kept 4 clean sheets.
Wollacott, 25, made his Black Stars debut in the team’s 3-1 win over Zimbabwe in Cape Coast, and recorded his first clean sheet for the senior national team, when they visited Harare for the return fixture of the World Cup qualifier.
His return to Swindon after the international break saw him on the bench for Swindon’s game versus Sutton United.
Garner explained Wollacott’s single training session with the team ahead of Sutton United, was not enough to get him straight back into the team.
He also indicated that the goalkeeper is one he has been left impressed with this season.
“Jojo Wollacott had been away but he’s done ever so well this season. He had gone away, won two caps for his country and massive recognition for him for that. He came back in with us last Friday and I didn’t feel comfortable with putting a player back in the team with just one day’s training, and Lewis Ward had done so well.
“It was a tough decision, Lewis Ward deserved to stay in the team, Jojo Wollacott deserved to go back in and I’m very fortunate to have two wonderful goalkeepers regardless of the headaches that gives me,” Garner said after the game.
