Contestants for Sunyani Senior High School proved their mettle after defeating Notre Dame Girls' SHS and Nkoranman SHS in their preliminary stage contest.
Sunyani SHS blew their opponents out of the water to progress to the next phase of the competition with a whooping 58 points.
The school dominated all the five rounds, including the speed race, the 'Problem of the Day', the 'True or False' round and the riddles.

Following the demonstration of absolute brilliance over their competitors, Sunyani SHS earned the GOIL Riddle Bonanza award worth GH¢1,200 for solving all four riddles in the last Round.
Notre Dame Girls' SHS secured a total of 38 points while Nkoranman SHS was left in the distance with only three points.
The NODASS ladies are, however, confident of making it to the one-eighth stage after being ranked as one of the top-scoring losing schools.
Their contest was the last in the Bono-Ahafo zone after Sunyani SHS and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls joined Techiman SHS, St. James SHS and Nkoranza SHS to qualify automatically to the one-eighth stage.

The one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is expected to start on November 15 in Kumasi where winners of the prelims will be joined by the seeded schools to compete in the race.
The NSMQ is produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service.
