The Adaklu District Assembly in the Volta Region has outrightly rejected the President's District Chief Executive nominee, Bright Nyatsikor.
The nominee polled nine votes in his favour against 10, representing 45%.
He, therefore, does not stand a chance to be presented before the assembly again since he failed to poll 50% of the total votes.
However, Mr Nyatsikor, who serves as the Volta Regional National Health Insurance Authority Public Relations Officer, may be reappointed by the President for the same position.
His rejection follows a similar occurrence where the former Adaklu DCE, Phanuel Kadey, was bruised in his attempt to serve another term in office.
He failed to poll two-thirds of the total votes in two attempts, leading to Mr Nyatsikor.
In a related development, Akatsi North District Assembly also rejected a second nominee to the position of Chief Executive.
Paul Agbesi Ayrah failed to garner a two-thirds majority of votes as required but stands a chance to make a second bid after ten days.
Ten out of the 18 assembly members voted in his favour, while eight voted against him, this represents 55 per cent of the total votes cast.
The 52-year-old English Language teacher at the Akatsi Senior High Technical School is a Human Rights Activist and a former Akatsi North District Assembly member.
